Ingredients

  • ½ cup (113.5 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (220 g) light brown sugar
  • 2 refrigerated rolled pie crusts
  • 42 ounce (1.19 kg) canned apple pie filling
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Melt the butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat. Remove 1 tablespoon of the melted butter and set aside. To the remaining melted butter, add the brown sugar and melt them together until the sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  3. Place one of the pie crusts over the melted butter and brown sugar mixture in the skillet. Pour the apple pie filling over the crust and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon sugar.
